Thunder Perfect Mind is a new print magazine devoted to the goddess (). By goddess we do not mean a deity so much as the intelligent, pulsing power of life itself. She speaks as an archetypal force who lives inside of all of us—men, women, and every other expression of her wild, teeming creativity.

Lately, she has been thundering through the collective psyche.

WHY PSYCHEDELICS?

Plant medicine, carefully stewarded by many different Indigenous lineages, has now made the jump to the mainstream. According to the Rand Corporation, some 8 million Americans tried psilocybin in 2023, to say nothing of other consciousness-expanding substances.

These experiences are often life changing, and have profound ontological ramifications. In underground circles of scientists and philosophers, a whisper is turning into a rumble: What if Indigenous and animist traditions have it right? What if the Earth is sentient?

Younger brother is starting to wake up.

Some of these trips happen beyond the realm of gender, or even form. Yet when they do take form, many people aren’t meeting God, but the Goddess. This is a shocking discovery for many Westerners who haven’t had a conscious relationship with her for a few thousand years. Yet despite the systematic erasure of her temples and names, she has never left us. And now, she is bursting through the collective unconscious again.

Materialism is out. We need new forms of media to respond.

WHY PRINT?

We’re not sure about you, but we are completely digitally fatigued. We simply do not want to click that link. But we do want to bring back that giddy feeling we used to get running to the mailbox to receive our favorite magazine.

We also want to put our money where our mouth is when it comes to matter and Mother. All material objects come from the Earth. To change our relationship with her means we must change our relationship with stuff, right down to the wood pulp our pages are printed on.

And we want to make a conscious choice to zig to the zag of AI. With three distinct paper stocks, gold metallic Pantone inks, and meticulous printing, this is an extremely high-production – but not precious! – magazine, meant to be touched as much as read.
